Boze MillBoze Mill came to fall when bigger mills had come in. This ment less need for the little mills. The son of the mill owners was a notorious outlaw the called Devil Dick Boze. He would rampage and kill people through out the state during and after the civil war. It was said that devil Dick was killed in a gun fight and then buried in a cemetery near Boze Mill. The Spring at the Dam will pump a million gallons of water a hour. After doing some investigating we had also found that there is a cemtery located somewhere near the campsites. The County Cemtery book noted 4 graves, but the graves are unmarked and there could be more.
Setting upHigh today was 85 degrees, the Moon was full. Not sure about the Geomagnetic or the Solar x-ray. The day started out sprinkling then cleared off.Rick and I arrived at the mill at 11:00 am. At the time we arrived it had still been raining. But by the time we got all the camping gear and equipment unload it had cleared up. Around 1:00 pm we had pretty much everything set up so we went swimming to cool off. Gene had showed up around 3:00 pm. Rick and I helped him unload his car and make the many trips down to the campsite. We were not able to park the cars close to the site so there was a 1/4 Mile walk from the cars to the camp sites. After getting all Gene's stuff set up we all walked around the park getting pictures of the dam and the river. We planed on waiting until 12 am then start the night time investigation. Around 8:00 pm eaten and thought we take a nap. During this time Gene was lying on his hammock he had brought. After about a half a hour of sleeping we all were awaken to what was a loud bark, it came from around Gene. After that we all got up and made sure the fire was going. Since we are out in the middle of a 1000 or more acre state park, with a lot of wild animals that was not use to humans being around them. Around 10:30 pm we heard howling and a lot of twigs breaking all around the camp. After this we decided to call off the investigation and stay in the camp site to be on the safe side. Day 1 Setting up Camp Rick and I setting up camp: Kadie and Dexter Eleven Point River Picture of Eleven Point River. If you notice there is a Trail going up the hill. This trail goes to a cave. Ruins of Boze dam What is left of top of dam. Parts are falling so if you walk across you have to be very careful Gene Playing Flute Gene brought an wooden flute and was showing us how it works. Picture of Campfire I thought this picture is pretty so i wanted to share it. Water Flow Camp Site Camp Site After Gene Showed up Turbine After Dark I walked down to dam little bit after dark Stairs went to the Old Mill All that is left of old mill is these steps Day 2It was 54.9 degree's at 6:00 am I had woke at 6:00 am, so I thought I go down to the dam and take some pictures since it was at the end was still dark I may be able to get something. I could see enough to know what was around me. Today we kept busy by going swimming and just walking around the park. We thought we try to go over to the mill around 9:00 pm a little bit earlier then we usually do investigations, but we figure it it would be better then. We were hoping we wouldn't have to worry about the wild animals as bad. Everything was fine no signs of wild animals. We did have a late start of 10:00pm. Just as we started to get things ready to go out is when everything started to happen again. Gene and I were sitting next to the picnic table. When we seen a raccoon come up and start eating dog food. Gene got up and chased him off. Next thing we know the raccoon was back and on the table while we were sitting right next to it. He had stolen a loaf of bread. Right after this happen wolfs started howling, and we could hear twigs breaking, and movement of leaves all around the campsite. We then decided again it was best to stay in the camp site. The whole time sitting there it had gotten worse and worse with the animal noises. After a while we figured it be best just to leave and call it over. I had two dogs along and I was afraid they may get hurt. Neither dog will back down from anything nor are they big enough to handle a rabbit let alone a wolf or even a raccoon. Lower Part of Dam Picture i took early in the morning Lower Part of Dam Another picture we took of dam Camp second night Camp looks peaceful at this time of night Top of dam Mel Walking Kadie and Dexter. Across top of the Dam. Sitting at camp Gene playing his flute. We enjoyed listening to him play We figure there is something going on at this area. The whole time we were there a feeling of being dread was upon us. Rick and I had to fight to stay away, when we had left the park and gone up the road about 5 miles to go swimming tiredness and dread was gone, until we get back to the camp ground. Gene said he felt that the place had some kind of curse on it. The whole time we had been there I had strange dreams about the old mill and a dead man standing at the door, telling me he was dead and his job was to watch over the place. Rick also said he had some weird dreams also. The first night Rick dreamed that we were just starting out our village along this river and Indians were attacking us. The second night his dream was he was an Indian living along the river peacefully. I also had seen an image of a man through out the two days he had gray hair, his hair was shorter on top but not real short about an inch long and curly. The back went down to his neck line. He also wore a white button up shirt. We are hoping to go back and do a night investigation. But we will not be camping at this site UPDATE We never have gone back to this location, but we have heard from people who live around that area. They all have had problems with what people have said was wild animals. But some of the people have claimed to seen something that didn't resemble any wild animal they seen.
