Using Dowsing on Investigations

I have never used the rods but I have use the pendulum and it does work. At first I did it just to see if it worked. I have to try things first. Which in this case is NOT a good idea but anyway....... I only use it when all else has failed and I really want some answers. First let me say that when you own one then YOU OWN IT AND ONLY YOU. What I mean by that is you can't let anyone else use it but you. I could get more into that later. But first you have to set it up as I call it and this is at least how I do it.
First I sage it and me. Sageing is something we could into under the safety topic I guess. That keeps evil spirits away from you and the pendulum before and after you leave the place. Then I saying a protecting prayer. (to each his own on that) The I say: " For all yes answers to my questions I would like the pendulum to turn clock wise, for all no answers I would like you to turn counter clock wise, if you do not know or do not understand my question then just swing back and Fourth, and if another spirit enters a room while you are turning then go back the other direction". Do you understand? ........... Now, if the pendulum turns in a clock direction (meaning yes) you are ready to get started. If nothing happens then you start over. Now sometimes you will get a small response to a question and sometimes a very large response. I have had it start spinning all the way out before. Now if it doesn't seem know what it wants to do then you may need to ask the question in a different way. But always ask yes or no questions. If you can't hold your arm still and think you are moving it then sit in a chair resting your elbow on the arm of the chair with hand bent down holding the end of the string. Now relax your hand, close your eyes, and ask the question and wait a min before you open your eyes. Now see what the answer is. You can also walk through a place or room and stop. if the pend. starts to move then there is a spirit or spirits in there. Now you can ask your questions. I also tell you pend. I will tell it that I want it to stop after each question. And I say: " Thank you spirit now please stop the pend." And when it does I again say thank you then I ask my next question if I have one. Test your Pend. first. Ask it question you know the answers to, both yes and no answers. Do that several times. I have a copper pend. and several crystal ones. But you can also use a ring you wear all the time. Yep you heard me right. Tie a string on it at least 6 to 8 inches. It has to have a little weight to it to work and it has to belong to you. Follow the above direction and try it out. But do it safely and respectfully and only if your ready.

Before I get asked I will beat you to it LOL.The reason why you only use YOUR pendulum it is really for your safety and to make sure it always works. You are the one who is telling it how YOU want it it work. YOU are saying I want YOU to do this for this answer and this for this answer. And you may not do it the same way I do. If you let someone else use it they may mess up your instructions and confuse the spirits and then you have to re-program your pendulum all over again. Then there is the safety issues. If you go through the proper protections before you go on any ghost hunt but some other person in your group doesn't then they may get hurt where as you would be protected right??? Same goes for your pendulum. You say the same protection prayer you would do before any ghost hunt before using one and I personally sage myself and my pendulum to keep away bad spirits away from it before I use it, therefore I am not going to just hand it over to everybody in the room. Plus after you have been working with one for a long period of time it gets in tune with your energy (or so others have told me) and yours may not work right for other people anyway. I always feel its better to be safe then sorry. Besides that you never know what other people could be doing with it! That to me is the only danger with them.
As far as the Danger, so far I have never had a problem with it, but I have never encountered a bad spirit with it either. But with my ring I was just playing around to see if a wedding ring would work and it did. I just asked it things I knew the answer to to see if it was right ...............and it was. I was not trying to contact the dead so it did not hurt me in anyway.
As far as sage, I get it at the powwows I dance in but you can get it on-line. I like the California White sage the best. You lite it then blow it out. Its the smoke you want to cleanse an area. Bad spirits don't like the smell. It is sorta a Sweet smell.
